UFT Comprehensive Benefits - We offer our staff UFT comprehensive health, dental, and vision plan along with a pre-tax FSA plan. We offer Life Insurance and Short-Term Disability. We cover the cost for NY Paid Family Leave and we have a pre-tax Dependent Care Benefit Plan. We offer commuter benefits through Wage Works. We also offer a 401K retirement plan by matching up to 4 percent.
Weekly Team Professional Development - Every Wednesday, students have an early dismissal so that our staff can participate in professional development. These sessions vary in topics, including curriculum development, school culture, student data, or free work time.
Coaching - Each department has a Vice Principal and a Department Chair. Teachers have weekly common planning periods, departmental meetings, and grade-level meetings to discuss their instructional practices, trends with student behavior, and best practices around making academic or cultural adjustments to meet the learning needs of our students.
Representation by the UFT - All of our instructional staff members are represented by the United Federation of Teachers (UFT). As a newly developed partnership, our faculty enjoy the UFT membership along with their full benefits.
